Beats FireFox Hands Down...

Hi Again, I have been Using FireFox for SomeTime Now, and know It's quite a Good Browser. But, One Fine Day, as i was browsing around www.Download.com, I just Bumped into some really strange Statistics. I was looking through the Browsers Section, Expecting FireFox to be at the Top Downloaded, But to my Surprise, I found a Browser called Avant, which has been downloaded more than 11 Million Times. That's more than 3 Times FireFox was downloaded, which is around 3 Million. So, I just Checked out Avant, Which is based on the IE Engine and is a small, smaller than FireFox 3.1 MB Download. And I instantly became a Great Fan of Avant. It's Just so Beautiful and cool. The UI is really Great. And Good Notifications too. Infact, I am writing this Post on Avant. You can find more about It's features and Download it at http://www.avantbrowser.com/. I am a convert and Find Avant Much Much more cooler than FireFox. All those FireFox fans out there, Please Give Avant a Try. You'll surely appreciate it. Thanks, and Be Right Back....

Yes, It does Flicker a Bit, But, Something is Better than Nothing:) The MSN toolbar is meant as a small Add-On for IE5.1+, Till IE7 Comes out. Thanks, and Be Right Back....

I have Lots of Invites Left and Would Be Glad to give you One. Thanks, and Be Right Back....

Another .NET Implementation!

Hi Again, Good News For .NET guys! .NET might be moving Slowly towards Being Cross Platform. DotGNU is another Project Geared Towards That. DotGNU, along with Mono (See My Previos Post about Mono) are Moving Towards making .NET run on Linux, Unix, Solaris and Ofcourse Windows. The Windows Forms Component of DotGNU seems to be Complete, Since they are Showing Some ScreenShots of .NET Apps Running in a Variety of Operating Systems. Since Mono and DotGNU seem to be Pretty Stable, I am thinkin of Installing Linux on my System to Try them out. I am thinking of Mandrake Linux, But if you think otherwise, You are Welcome to Leave Comments. Currently, the C# compiler is quite Stable and VB.NET and J# Compilers are UnderWay. U can find More Information Here. If these Projects Come True, We can Silence those Java People and Make our Applications Run Anywhere. And Java's Promise of "Write Once, Run (and Debug!) Everywhere" Will Come True by .NET.. If u know C or Gtk or C# and have some spare Time, Please Volunteer to work with DotGNU or Mono to make them Complete faster. Thanks, and Be Right Back....

The Two Poles Meet....

Hi Again, When Will Teh North Pole Meet the South Pole ? A good Student of Geography Would Answer "Never". But, Software is Proving otherwise. The Two Poles of Software, Microsoft and Sun, Seem to be moving Together, Atleast on Paper. According to a Press Release from Microsoft, Both the Companies are Moving towards Collaborating With each other. As a Part of this Agreement, Microsoft has paid $1,950 Million Dollars To Sun Microsystem, To settle all the Legal Disputes between them. And Part of the Agreement also Includes "Collaboration between .NET and Java". If it were to happen, I would be More than Pleased. But, Like Every Cloud has a Silver Lining, This Agreement has a Negative Effect too. Yes, Microsoft Will No Longer support the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine... But, The Support is extended upto 31 December, 2007, for "Smooth Transfer of People from Microsoft's JVM" More Details can be found here. So, What Next ? Maybe, Apple's Mac OS X will Run on a PC? Thanks, and Be Right Back....
